NOT KNOWING YOUR PILGRIMS FROM YOUR PUMPKINS

Do not, I repeat - do not try to make a Thanksgiving dinner in Australia unless you are prepared to drive yourself straight up a wall.

Turkeys come only once a year at Christmas so if you want one, you need to order it weeks in advance. If you are used to dealing in pounds, not kilos, better take a converter to the butcher or you will end up with a bird that may not fit in your oven.

If you are inclined to put marshmallows on top of your sweet potatoes, you need to go into a dozen confectionery stores and sample the marshmallows or you could end up with some goolish strawberry taste melted into the potatoes. Yuck!

Fresh Cranberries are unheard of and you will need to make do with good old Ocean Spray in a jar and since there is always a touch of salt in Australian in everything you buy, you learn to love salty cranberry sauce.

I was most definitely a pioneer in producing a good old American Thanksgiving in the land downunder but it was terrific fun and a great time was had by all.

Phil and I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as much as we did ours.

AND SPEAKING OF PIONEERS...

I am convinced that Phil will not rest until he has made it possible for everyone on the net to go into their own business and earn their own money. This was his goal 7 years ago when he started on the net and it is still his goal.

Just so you all have a little history here...

Phil started on the net 7 years ago. In that time he developed the first integrated safelist script now called DamnSmart Mail. When this script arrived on the scene, he offered partnerships to people so they could go into business for themselves and create their own safelist business.

Not content to rest there, he developed the first automatic safelist submitter on the net known as ELP and is now developing the latest and greatest version of a safelist submitter called the JPE Turbo Mailer. We expect the release of this submitter in about 4 to 6 weeks and it will be like no other submitter on the net.

What's the first thing he did? He offered partnerships for this submitter so people could run with the product and make a living for themselves.

Phil also realized that his partners, who were now running safelists, needed safelist directories that they could operate as their own business and he developed the Global Safelist Directory script which many of our partners now use and make money from.

He went on to develop some of the best individual safelist scripts on the net such as AD Pro and AA Autoblaster so that people could set up their own more sophisticated safelist businesses by purchasing a single script and making it their own.

More recently, he developed Instant Cash Magnet, a terrific viral advertising program where affiliates keep all the money from their sites and get to advertise their own programs as well.

Then came Express Mail Center, where partners sell memberships to a large, all paid list and keep 100 percent of the sales they make.

Just recently he set up an affiliate program for our most popular advertising tool, DSA Contact solo ads as well an affiliate program for CIIM, one of Mark Joyner's best and most informative products so that people all over the net could read a truly great ebook and get to know the marketing techniques that actually work.

And of course he took the ezine world by storm by developing (GEN) Global Ezine Network, one of the most impressive group of ezines owners ever brought together to do Joint Ventures with a data base reach of over 2.2 million readers.

Whatever Phil designs and undertakes, he does it with a determined mindset as to how his partners can make money and keep it. He is one of a kind on the net and while, he may not know his pilgrims from his pumpkins, I would cook him a thanksgiving dinner again any old time just to keep that pioneering spirit alive and well fed.

AND THE POINT IS...

Generally speaking I do not write a bibliography about my partner. However, Phil and I see so many "programs" and projects fly across our desk which really are designed to make the "inventor" money and no one else that I felt it was important for our readers to know just a little history about one of the principals of JPE Advertising.

JPE Advertising did not really spring out of the head of Zeus but rather from years of long hard planning and the following a consistent goal of developing quality products that work for us as well as the people who join with us as partners or an members.

Do our projects always work? Nope, we have had our share of clinkers like anyone else. The names escape me right now or maybe I just have amnesia. Not everything we touch turns to gold either for us or our partners but the successes have far outweighed the failures and I guess that is all anyone can hope for in business or in life. There are principals involved in net business or any business and it behooves us all to follow them.

1) You gotta be in it to win it. If you never venture out and try a business for yourself, you will never know what it feels like to really succeed. You may not be a developer or a website builder but you can find your own business to go into on the net. Do it and stick to it unyieldingly and you can make money on the net or in the bricks and mortar world.

2) Take a risk. Put some money aside to invest in your own business. Put time aside-lots of it- to develop that business and don't throw your hands up when everything goes wrong. Stick to your business plan and get through the tough times .Most of the well known names on the net have been working at their business for 7 to 10 years. You hear about them when they become rich and famous. Most of them were not overnight successes It took years to get there. It is a factor you should contemplate when you start your own business. Impatience is not a virtue.

3)Develop your own talent. You all have it. Phil and I see some of it everyday in the ads people send us, in the banners they create, in the joint venture ideas they send us.How do you develop your own talents? Read everything you can put your hands on. Write every one you respect on the net and ask them questions and don't stop until you get the answers somewhere. Persistence is the main characteristic of any successful entrepreneur.

Which brings me back to my main point. It isn't just in Australia where people don't know their pilgrims from their pumpkins. Most of us don't know our proverbial behinds from our elbows, but that does not stop us from diving in and just doing it.

Go get um Webpro Times readers. We know you can. And, if you want help. Phil is the right guy to come to and once in a while I chime in too.

It just a few weeks until Christmas. Make them good ones.

It was always thus and will always be so.

BEYOND EBOOKS - 10 Powerful Alternative Infoproduct Formats
Part 2 of 2 - Copyright 2002 Super Profitable Products

Continuing where we left off in the first part of our goal of differentiating how you deliver your information to get more sales at higher profits.

Here is the last 5 alternatives to eBooks that will put more money in your pockets.

6. Audio Interviews

One of the key disadvantages of eBooks, newsletter, special reports, etc... is that they are non-interactive. Many people learn better by hearing examples, discovering information in an interactive setting. Get someone to interview you about your topic and record it. You can record the interview over the phone, in person or by using a third-party conference service. Once again, you can offer your information via recorded interview for a premium over what you would charge in eBook format.

7. For-pay Newsletter

If you have experience, knowledge, contacts, or any other constant value you can add to a specific target market, then a for-pay newsletter can be an excellent source of income. Many established newsletter publishers - even those with just a few thousand subscribers, are converting to a beefier "for-pay" model. Even if they only convert 500 to subscribers at $47/year, that's $23,500 revenue PLUS the ability to market products to that group AND collect renewals over the years. One example of a top quality, for-pay newsletter is Jonathan Mizel's

http://www.infoproductcreator.com/part/mizel.html

8. Pay Members-Only Web Site

An alternative to a "for pay" newsletter is a "for pay" private website. Here you can provide various forms of content and services to your customers in exchange for a monthly, quarterly or yearly membership fee. What would you provide as content? Here are some examples:

Articles you write, results of research you conduct periodically, survey results, news updates from various sources, case studies or success stories, interviews, digital audio files, private newsletter, private discussion board or networking board, quality products at a discount or free, discounted services you provide through joint venture partnerships, etc... One of the best membership sites I have come across on the topic of online marketing is Terry Dean's Netbreakthrough's site found at:

http://www.infoproductcreator.com/part/net.html

9. Seminars

Your topic may lend itself to conducting bi-weekly or monthly seminars to local audiences. Perhaps you have tips on how to purchase a new home - you could run targeted ads or partner with builders in your area to run a bi-weekly seminar in a rented room. Maybe you were a manager of customer service in the travel industry - you could develop a seminar on top-rated customer support tips for the travel industry and market these to hotel operators, as well as other tourist companies. Online seminars are hot, but don't underestimate the power of personal seminars to both make immediate income as well as gather high-quality leads for other products or services you offer.

10 Product Bundles

Bundle different product formats to add even more value to your offering without increase the cost. For instance, say you have written an eBook on travelling to your favorite city. Translate that into an audio product or audio interview by simply talking into a microphone into your computer or via telephone recorded into your computer and capture that via a relatively inexpensive recording software such as n-tracks (shareware). Where your eBook may only sell at $17-$27, the bundled product may get you $47-$67 or more...with very little added cost. Bundling can be a highly effective technique to squeeze 3-4 times more profit out of your content.

If you are considering developing your own eBook on a specific topic, then consider these other options first. If you already have your own eBook, then consider these other options to pull additional profit from your content.

Turn your information product development business into multiple streams of income. That's truly making a PROFIT from your knowledge.

SMART TIP OF THE DAY!

Turn Visitors Into Buyers

One of the downsides of the Net is how hard it is to get visitors to buy what you're selling. Typically 1% or fewer visitors buy. The percentage of visitors that buy is called your "conversion rate."

Imagine if Kmart or Sears got only got one buyer for every 1,000 people who came through the store. Because you don't have to drive across town to get from one web site to the next, consumers are far less likely feel committed to placing an order.

Increase your orders by showing visitors what a great VALUE your product or service is. List lots of benefits the customer will get when they buy. Tell them how your product or service will make their lives better.

Put a link to your order page near the top of your sales copy and another at the bottom. Make sure people always know where to click at the moment they get the urge to buy.

SMART RESOURCES OF THE DAY

Recommendation & Review:

Online Wealth Creations

A good friend of ours, Murray Whitcombe, recently sent us a link to a program he runs and asked us to look around and tell him what we thought of it. We did this and what we found was a collection of information we would have paid three times as much to get hold of. This is some of the best info we have encountered. Real, use it right now, stuff that generates fast cash. This one gets our 10 star rating.

THE CONTINUING SAGA OF J AND P - Now in audio...

This week you can either read the continuing saga of J and P or you can listen in on it instead. We just thought you'd like to hear the unique mix of J's raspy, loud, New York Accent and P's softer, more laid back approach... Either way turn up your speakers and have some fun with us today...

P?

Yes. J?

Do you think the 28lb turkey we cooked was a male or a female and how old would you say it was?

J? I think I would rather just forget the Turkey and the the trimmings. You had me
working in the kitchen for two days trying to baste a turkey who's leg was so big it got stuck in the oven grill.

Yes, P. I know it was a bit of a strain but it was worth it in the end, don't you
think. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the marshmallows came out alright and the stuffing was great and...

J I am trying not to think right now. Next time you want to do Thanksgiving, how about we hire a caterer and call it a day?

P, How could we hire a caterer. Everyone is home with their own families on Thanksgiving even caterers. I don't think we could find one.

J, We don't do Thanksgiving in Australia. I think an Australian caterer might just be free on that day.

Whoops, you're right, P. I forgot. Okay we'll hire a caterer, but it won't be the
same as a home cooked meal.

Really, J? I'm all for that.

Very funny, P. Didn't you like the meal I cooked?

Can I plead the fifth, here, J?

Oh really, P, that is such an American - Expression. I think you should just come clean and tell me what you really think of our Thanksgiving dinners.

Lets put it this way, J. I'd rather put a few snags on the barbie and call it a day. Can I get back to work now?

Snag. P? A snag is something you get when you wear a pair of stockings. I don't think I would like to barbie a snag.

J?

Yes P

Don't start...
